The Savanturiers

The Savanturiers is an educational programme by the Centre de Recherche Interdiciplinaire (Interdisciplinary Research Center) aiming to use same methods used in research, with the same rigour, to teach science to children.

For them, we produce educational and didactic videos, such as these:

Nestlé Research Center

Scientific papers can be difficult to understand for non-specialists. One picture often tells more than a thousand words: this is why we have teamed up with our Belgian friends at Somersault 18:24 to create the most beautiful visual abstracts for the Nestlé Research Center, thus allowing non-scientific employees to engage with the research of their scientific colleagues.

CNRS

The CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) often teams up with bloggers and youtubers. This was the case for the moderation of the CNRS Forum conference for instance, as well as for collaborations on their YouTube channel: Zestes de Sciences.

Big Bang Science helps the CNRS get in touch with these content creators.

Book "Moi, parasite" by Pierre Kerner

Thanks to Big Bang Science, even popular books are peer-reviewed :)

Pierre Kerner, biologist, blogger, podcaster and man of many talents, just wrote a new book on  parasites: "Moi, parasite".

We made the scientific proof-reading possible, through a partnership with Sophie, PhD in evolutionary biology.

International Committee of the Red Cross

What is the point of an applied science such as medicine if it cannot be applied?

In 2016 and 1027, we worked on the "Health Care in Danger" campaign for the International Committee of the Red Cross. We teamed up with Benoit Yin to produce this amazing video.

The video "#NotATarget" : https://youtu.be/w2Gry2VMFsA

Banque Cantonale de Fribourg

We wrote the content for the new website of the Banque Cantonale de Fribourg.

The goal was to describe the offers and explain the banking environment in simple words, exactly as we do in science popularization endeavours, with a special attention on search engine optimization (SEO).

Famelab France

After Alan was a member of the 2016 jury for the Swiss semi-finals, Big Bang Science was Famelab France's communication and media partner for 2017, on behalf of the British Council in Paris.

A Planet of Viruses

In the English speaking world, Carl Zimmer is a - if not THE - superstar of science journalism. And guess who translated his famous book A Planet of Viruses into French? Yes. We did! Since  March 11, 2016, you can find it on the bookshelves of French bookshops as « Planète de virus ».

You cannot even begin to imagine how proud we are about this!

If you haven't read it already, what are you still doing there? Go and buy it at once*. In English or in French. For once, the translation is as good as the original.

Happy reading.

K&A

* From March 11, 2016 on, that is.

P.S.: If you're interested, this opportunity has given rise to an interview of the author by his translators, in English, on Podcast Science:
